High-rise buildings

View from North Point Mid-levels

North Point in this site loosely refers to the housing areas stretching from Tin Hau to North Point, including North Point Mid-levels, which is the hillside of these areas. The majority of developments in North Point are large but older high-rise buildings along the lengthy King's Road, and public housing estates along the shoreline. Just two underground railway stations away from North Point is Tin Hau. The area is not as densely populated as North Point, but living condition is still packed except for some mid-rise and high-rise accommodations on the hillside. Medium-budget hotels and commercial buildings are added to the skyline of these areas.

Lacking large-scale shopping malls but teeming with traditional wet markets, supermarkets, restaurants, and mom-and-pop shops that offer items at unbeatable prices, these two areas are popular among local Chinese. The north-eastern entrance of Victoria Park, the largest park in HK, is situated at Tin Hau, and the new central public library is just across the road.

In the middle of North Point and Tin Hau just a little bit uphill is the tranquil North Point Mid-levels. There are a few large high-rise housing complexes near the wooded Choi San Woo Park. Apartments here have views of the sea or the mountains. With many local secondary schools scattering around, North Point Mid-levels is otherwise known as the socalled "elite school networks". The Chinese International School and the HK Japanese School are also located in this area at the ends of secluded roads.
