European colonists built their houses on Victoria Peak to reach for cooler temperature at high attitudes. Homes on the Peak were considered accolades for wealth, power and status. Peak Tram went into service in 1888, with terminus on Garden Road and the Peak, and an intermediate station on May Road. Residential development sped up since Peak Tram was in service. Peak District Reservation Ordinance in effect between 1904 and 1947 banned Chinese from living on the Victoria Peak. Those days, the Lower Peak area was as high as the prominent wealthy Chinese families could live.
Homes in the Lower Peak were of much lower density and were one by one redeveloped into the skyscrapers today. Tavistock, Century Tower, May Tower, Tregunter 1 & 2, part of Midlevels Portfolio by Hong Kong Land, were redeveloped for rental purposes, and were homes to many important business leaders at the time. It is interesting to note that the potentials of these plots were not fully exploited until subsequent owners built additional blocks to utilize all the unrealized plot ratios. Currently, prominent buildings in the area include Tavistock, Aigburth, Branksome, Tregunter Towers, May Towers, Century Towers, Queen's Garden, Dynasty Court, Cloverly Court, Garden Terrace, Valverde, Hillsborough Court, Kam Yuen and Pine Court.
With easy access to the CBD The area is well supported by schools, club facilities, parks as well as shops. Due to the tranquil environment and the wide variety of luxury apartments in different sizes, layouts and budgets on offer, potential tenants and affluent buyers can easily find desirable properties to their liking.

Juhi Schmidl's client say:
Juhi made our home search much easier than previous experiences. She listened to our needs, reacted quickly to our request, questioned and negotiated on our behalf when needed, and organized our days exceptionally well. Overall she was a pleasure to work with and engaged well with the whole family.

Melanie Brown's client say:
Melanie has it all! She is professional, listens to what you are looking for, usually finds it, but spends time searching. She cares about her clients so much so that when I was disappointed with what was available for my budget she spent the evening trawling the web before departing for her brothers big birthday in Oz, and found the flat we wanted. We can't speak highly enough of Melanie.
Teresa Chu's client say:
House hunting is gruesome process normally, but with swift response and suggestion from understanding client's needs, it was pleasant surprise to find the flat in very reasonable rental and least search time with Proway, and Teresa Chu. I hope I would not need to move for a while from the flat Proway found me, but if I get to, I do not hesitate reaching out Proway.
Josephine Cheung's client say:
My husband and I very much enjoyed working with Josephine Cheung at Proway. She is very fair to both buyer and seller, extremely thoughtful, quick to respond, problem-solving and lovely to interact with.

Melanie Brown's client say:

Margaret May Lee's client say:
May has been super helpful and is the best agent I have had in Hong Kong in the last 14 years.
Christina Martin's client say:
Christina is a fantastic agent. We couldn't be any more grateful for all of her help. We were a group of 3 girls who didn't know exactly what we were looking for to begin with. With each place she showed us, she helped us to recognise just what we were after. She adapted each viewing to match exactly what we wanted and these completely matched our high expectations. She helped us to find the most perfect place and we couldn't be more happy with where we live - it is absolutely perfect and superb value for money. She helped with every single step from translating, to banking, to exchanging contracts. Christina also helped us to get set up with all bills and the people she recommended were brilliant too. The service didn't stop there as she helps us to sort anything we need and straight away with a smile. I could not recommend her more!
Antony Daly's client say:
Antony did a tremendous job in helping us find our new home in Hong Kong. As we were relocating from Shanghai, we needed time to understand the local market and Antony was extremely patient and accommodating in showing us around various districts and gradually homing in on our preferences. In the end we found the perfect place and couldn't be happier. Thank you so much for all your help! We will definitely be recommending you to our friends.
