The Children's Institute of Hong Kong (TCI) is a private, non-profit charitable organisation established in 2003. It offers educational support services for children who cannot learn in a mainstream environment, as well as providing academic and behavioral support for children in typical education settings.
TCI was the first registered school in Hong Kong set up solely to educate children who fall within the autistic spectrum. It shares a site with The Harbour School, a new international school - which provides TCI students the opportunity to develop friendships with their typical peers, to be a part of a larger school community and, when appropriate, have access to full or partial mainstreaming. Its educational programme provides a full-day, 12-month programme for students starting at the aged of three years. All programmes are designed to increase verbal language skills as well as to improve receptive language skills. To ensure that the students, and their families' needs are met beyond the school day, TCI offers a family consultation and education programme, aimed at increasing the quality of life of the child and the family.
TCI also offers behavioral support services to local schools, international school, and other community organisations.
