Sponsor Australian International School Foundation Limited Year of Establishment 1995 Level Primary-cum-Secondary Curriculum Type Australian
Australian International School Hong Kong (AISHK) follows the Australian school year (i.e. January to December) and a curriculum based on the New South Wales Department of School Education. While the medium of instruction is English, Putonghua is also taught to students as part of the curriculum, which has been modified to fit an Asian setting.
Catering for over 1,000 pupils, the aim of the school is to establish an environment where the students can develop a sense of responsibility towards people around them by showing co-operation with teachers, staff members and other children.
The goal of the Upper Primary department is to develop the students' skills as they grow into increasingly independent and mature children. The programme aims to empower the students with skills and values that will be of use to them in the secondary school.
